Spice | The WriggleButts

Here are Mom’s attempt to take action shots of me. They do tend to get a bit blurry as Mom is slow and I am quick. I hope you’ll enjoy them, though. This is one of the ways I keep so fit. *purrs* I’m a tiny little thing, but weigh in at just over 4 kg (8 point something lbs) so I can wake Mom up when I step on her at night.

On a different note – Patience put out a request on WhippetWorld if anyone would send a note to their very great vet also known as Ol’ Poke ‘n Stick. When Spice had the seizure at 11.15PM he got a call 11.25 and was in his office waiting when they arrived 20 minutes later making Spice’s passing as painfree as possible for 2- and 4-leggeds alike. We thought this was a great idea – we all know how important a good vet is for our sanity when our fur babies are not well and I loved the idea of him recieving notes from all over thanking him for his services to a dog whose breeders/owners are dead and unable to thank him.

UPDATE: Spice had a seizure last night and was rushed to the vet. She’s resting with her missed and beloved family now. We hope her brother will enjoy the rest of his time with the waggle and not miss her too much. We are so very sad. Rest in peace, sweetie!

We’re still very sad around here thinking about Patience and Bill and Spice and the Warburton crew. We have known them for years through the great whippet forum WhippetWorld. Spice (and brother Easy) used to belong to the Mountans who unfortunately passed away, leaving behind loving dogs and friends. We did not know them well, but Carolyn (coat maker xtraordinaire) was on WhippetWorld, too, plus we know how many people loved them. Many of you will already have read P’s post about their arrival; http://patience-please.blogspot.com/2009/04/easy-and-spice.html but I thought I’d post the link in case you don’ know them (we recommend you get to know them – they’re great, and Patience is the most talented writer we know) and got a bit curious yesterday.

That said – we’re all in need a pick-me-up, and what makes you better than baby animals? Here are Virus and Våfflan’s babies at 4 weeks!
