Bajas to the rescue!

Last night I was really helpful. Ok.. If you want to get really technical about it it was more of a joint effort on Mom and me, but I see no reason to focus on that. Anyway… If it wasn’t for me Mom wouldn’t be out walking at the right time! So.. This is what happened;

We’ve been out for my night time walkie and were aproaching our house when a guy called out in English from a cab that pulled up next to us. Turns out that he was French and had just arrived in Norway to study here as an exchange student. His flight from Paris to London had been delayed and so he’d arrived in Oslo later than planned. By the time he arrived at the Central Station the person who should be there to meet him had given up and left and he was stuck in Oslo a Saturday night with no idea what apartment he was to stay in, and he didn’t have any keys anyway so that wouldn’t really have helped much.

So Mom took me home and got her phone and started calling around, but in the end she had to take him up to our apt. so they could use the Internet searching for a person to contact and a phone number. After calling the president of the student exchange organisation(!) they eventually got hold of the right person (we’d called her first, but she didn’t pick up but the president guy called her and then she picked up). So for an hour or so we entertained the french guy. His name was Axel and apart from insisting I was a French Bulldog he was a nice guy. Mom showed him pictures of the difference, though. So he even learned something!

Now he’s been picked up and hopefully he’s settling in perfectly. So what did I do, really? Most of the time I was licking the floor, but just admit it! I was the most helpfullest! No doubt about it. If I hadn’t needed that pee at the right time.. Maybe mr.French Guy would still be out there!

Helpful kisses, Bajas! :*

Oh… I almost forgot.. I’ve got a few more clues for you! First of all it’s not a pug. Actually it’s not a dog at all, but it’s a purebred something. Here’s another picture:

Oh.. One more thing! We’re going to choose the first one that post the correct guess AND only the correct guess (so you can’t make more than one guess at a time).

Coco to the rescue!

This is Sandra. We might have forgotten to tell you all about her, because… Frankly… She’s generally rather boring. She always stay in her crate without wanting to play or cuddle with us at all. Can you imagine?? Anyways.. She’s the last Zebrafinch around here. Mom have had zebbies for years and they were one of the reasons she got interested in genes and biology and breeding and stuff… She’s owned Sandra’s parents, too.. and her sister who passed away a couple of months ago. They were getting old and Mom don’t plan to keep zebbies now – at least not for a while – so currently Sandra is living alone, poor girl.

Anyways.. This weekend Coco woke Mom up early.. Mom got rather grumpy but got up and let her out assuming she was thirsty. But she just stared at Mom and jumped back into the chair to sleep. Mom took her outside anyway hoping she wouldn’t be awaken again. No such luck. A little while later Coco started whining and when Mom got up she just stared at her. Then Mom noticed Sandra was making weird noises.. She checked on her and discovered that something had gotten stuck in the thingy she’s got her teeny weenie kibble in and she couldn’t get food! As soon as Mom fixed it she started eating and was all happy again. And Coco went back to sleep. Then Mom tried to go back to sleep, but couldn’t so she got up instead.

She’s a cutie, though.. Her mom was named Nimba because Nimbus couldn’t get enough of sitting in the chair next to her crate and just watch her jump around. These pictures was taken years ago when she was just growing up. If you notice her tail feathers are ruffled from sleeping in the nest rather than on a branch!

Safe sniffs,
the WriggleButts

Good thoughts, please!

This is Minmin. She’s a rescue, currently at the shelter where our auntie volunteers. Our auntie really wants this cat, she’s 5yrs old even though to us she looks just like a kitten. Isn’t she just too cute? We love the black spots by her ears!

But you see there’s a problem with aunties apartment. She bought her new apartment this spring, but then this summer it turns out the people fixing up the bathroom drilled into a pipe and the apartment underneath ended up having water seeping down. So after just a few months she’s been “homeless” while they had to redo the bathroom, open everything up to dry and right now it’s been about 3months.. They give her some money, but not enough to find somewhere else to live and so she’s been living with relatives with her cat, Herbert (a deaf rescue) and two guinea pigs. We love auntie and our buddies Herbert and Theodor (guinea pig). The second guinea pig is afraid of us, so we don’t really know him well.

(See? They’re all the best of friends, and they’re our friends too!
We’re really friendly dogs, you see!)

Anyways… We’ve been hoping that the apartment will be finished before anyone adopts Minmin because we want to get to know HER too. But today we got some upsetting news. Minmin is sick. It’s just a cold, but she’s rather sick.. poor girl.. And if you’ll all send her some healing thoughts we’d really apreciate it! And we promise if you send some good thoughts about that apartment, too, we’ll keep you posted on the progress! Hopefully the apt will be finished soon, Minmin will be all well and we’ll all get to know her better!
