Turn learning into a game!

Hi everyone!

We just wanted to give you a heads up – Susan Garrett has this great free “webinar” at the moment about how you can make learning games. That should be great for two-legged and four-legged alike, so we wanted to give you the link! Mom really wants to sign up to the online class Recallers 3.0 but it’s probably going to be too pricey.. We all love making training games, though. Here’s the link: http://www.brilliantrecalls.com/sq/8030-for-the-love-of-games

Something completely different.. Remember how Mom is a complete clutz? Well, she’s done it again. When we came home from training on Wednesday she slipped on a patch of ice and banged her knee. She didn’t think it was so bad until she got back up from the couch to get to bed.. She couldn’t put any weight on it at all.. So Thursday morning she was getting up early and heading to an obligatory class.. but instead she had to crawl back to bed.. It was just too painful and she didn’t dare try to drive (or get into the car for that matter). Thankfully (for her) P.A. had a day off and could drive her to the doctor and then to the hospital for x-rays. Nothing broken, thankfully. Today she’s already able to bend the knee a little so in the end it wasn’t so bad. Plus – she was supposed to work this weekend, but since she can’t walk she’ll stay home with us! Yay! Better trip her again soon!

oktober 2010

A year ago we had already encountered a little snow by now.. Now we’ve got lots of frost on the trees but still no snow.. Actually it’s RAINING outside as we’re typing this. Can you believe it? Minus 2 degrees C and rain.. Better tell P.A. to drive safely on his way home from work. Is Gummi NEVER going to see proper snow or what?!

Bajas ❤

A nice gift!

Mom and PA went to Sweden the other day – and even though they were only gone a few hours Mom came home with a pressie for me! See what I found outside:

Ok.. So you think I’m just a lazy pug? Huh?
I might be a senior pug now, but let me show you I still know how to do it!

I can’t wait to get up by the lake and play some more. Gotta do some more training with Mom to make her better at handling me and the camera at once. 😉

Big kisses,
Bajas

PeeEss: Mom is off sick from work because her footsies are still having some sort of inflammation thingie (probably from over exhaustion on the vacation) and she’s going crazy sitting STILL. At least she’s hardly ever leaving my side. 😉

Picture overload on a Thursday

So, Mom PASSED her test – meaning her essay will be graded as her “exam” for that course. We took a serious hike to celebrate. We’re trying to find the lake I’ve shown you before, Sognsvann, and we believe it to be somewhere behind the first hill you see in this picture.

Another city view..

It’s a leetle bit steep at times..

Plenty of little streams for me to have a drink!Don’t forget me, Mom! I’m coming!

Blueberry flowering! The little, round, red flowers will be replaced by blue berries by fall!
It was really quite easy to find the way. Here we’ve two standard colours marking paths – the red ones are for ski tracks and the pale blue for summer trails (avoiding lakes, marshlands etc that will be frozen in winter so you can ski on top).

I even found some snow for Khyra!

Here I cooooome!

We mostly followed the “winter” path. It’s a rather wide gravel road and no problem to use in summer. But once we followed the summer trail – see the light blue on the tree trunks? That’s telling us where to go – it was no trouble following the trail at all.
Then we got back out on the big road again.
We really did find the lake! And I got to come along visiting Veronika – but one of her room mates are allergic so I spent most of the time on the veranda.

Almost home, around 9.30PM! Still nice and a little sun left, but you can see the dark clouds appearing in the distance. Tomorrow will be gray..

Hope you’ve all had great Wednesdays!

Big kisses,
Bajas

Wordy Wednesday

Here’s my exciting news:
So what is this? It’s my very own BUS CARD! Well.. not only for buses, really, but all public transport within the city. Since Mom and PA won’t be going up by the lake for a while because of all their exams she had the brilliant idea (she’s got her moments, I suppose) that we should enjoy more of the city. And by city we don’t really mean city – we mean the green stuff. We have a nice city with plenty of parks and – even better – surrounded by forest. Unfortunately all dogs have to pay on public transport within the city – even little ones like me – so we have usually stayed around where we live. Now we can go everywhere! Yay! We can also take a bus somewhere and walk back home or walk wherever we feel like and just find a tram or subway to get back home if we get tired.

Here are some pix from our first trip using my very own BUS CARD! Yay!

Maridalsvannet
We hop off a bus – and see this.. Not bad, huh?

Maridalsvannet
I approve of the grass!

Maridalsvannet
Flowers, too!

Maridalsvannet
This funny looking building was the last one we saw for a while.

Maridalsvannet
Pretty, pretty. This is the same river we walk by down where we live. We’re just further up.

Maridalsvannet
Plenty of water, allright! This river run from the lake we get our drinking water from.

Maridalsvannet
A few joggers and a few dogs – and plenty of calm!

Maridalsvannet
I didn’t need a drink – but at least the water was calmer here, so it was possible!

Maridalsvannet
A little rocky patch..

Maridalsvannet
Then we got all the way up to the lake! Nice, huh? It’s all fenced in, however, being drinking water and all. Then we walked back down on the other side of the river!

Since this I’ve also walked around the lake Sognsvann again – that I showed you just over a week ago. And I’ve been going with Mom more than I otherwise would as it doesn’t cost money to bring me on public transport. I love my card. Yay!
